I have taught Pre-K at St. Francis since 1997. Before joining the St. Francis family I owned my own preschool for five years and was an Early Childhood Education Teacher at Herkimer County BOCES. 

I believe each child brings something unique to the class. It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment for each individual. I feel blessed to share my faith with the children and faculty. I will provide children with hands-on activities and the opportunity for individual discovery . It is important for me to provide a safe and caring environment for each child.

I have taught first grade at St. Francis for more than twenty years, and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Reading has always been one of my favorite pastimes and I enjoy sharing my love of literature with my students, encouraging a lifelong love of reading in them. Children at this age are enthusiastic and excited about learning which helps create a positive classroom environment for all of us.

Being able to share my faith in God and partner with parents to instill Christian values in their children has been an important part of my teaching career. Each child is a unique gift from God and each of my students has touched my heart in a special way. I feel truly blessed to have been part of the St. Francis family for so many years.

I love to teach math games because they are fun and important, not to mention creative thinking is also involved. I love that I am also able to teach about Jesus freely. I love the faculty and how they are very involved in helping the children.

I receved my NYS Teachers Certification and a B.A. in English and Education from SUC at Geneseo and my Masters degree from SUNY Cortland. I taught in the Utica City Schools until my sons were born. Since then I have taught pribate piano lessons and continue to do so. I taught Music here at St. Francis de Sales School from 2000 until 2004. I left to work at a nursing home doing Music activities. I am very happy to return as a Music Teacher this year. St. Francis feels like home and I enjoy working with this dedicated group of teachers in educating and hopefully enriching the lives of students here.

I have had the pleasure of teaching at St. Francis as the Remedial Teacher for the past two years. This year, I also took on the exciting role of school librarian and am having a blast working with our children. 
I graduated from SUNY Oswego, earing a BS Degree in Professional Studies- Elementary Education, and SUNY Cortland, earning an MS Degree in Reading Education. I currently hold permanent NYS certification in both Nursery to Gr. 6 Common Branch and K-12 Reading. 
Prior to starting here, I was the Reading Specialist, Intervention Services Coordinator, and Testing Coordinator at the Morrisville-Eaton Central School, retiring in June, 2013 after teaching for 36 years. 
St. Francis is a very special place and I look forward to working with all the kids.
